Menthol was started by promoter Taz for her birthday in 2004 at the Oak Bar in Stoke Newington. She wanted to bring the fun back into clubbing & after 3 events & a great review in QX magazine it moved to Fire in Vauxhall.
The politics of dancing meant that it became a bit nomadic & moved to a joint party with HuJe at Mass & the Factory over a 2 year period. Due to the moves, it being a monthly club & numbers dwindling the doors finally closed in December 2006 after a fantastic 2nd birthday.
Eight years later what was meant to be a one off, small Saturday afternoon reunion party at the RVT has turned into a quarterly packed out Friday night. No one is more surprised than Taz.
Leave your attitude at the door from 9pm-5am, as Residents Steve Higgins & Glyn Waters head up a trance-tastic journey of uplifting, euphoric and fresh music with a friendly & up-for-it crowd. .
To encourage new dj's, or even old ones that haven't played in a while the first two hours starts with a dj competition called Pick n Mix. 2 x dj's will play an hour slot each & you the audience choose who you'd like to hear at the next party for a full 2hrs set.
