In the space of three short years Jake Martin has come from nowhere to become one of the hottest DJing prospects in Hard House. A catalogue of flawless sets has landed him two DJ competition wins and as many residencies, as well as appearances at a number of the capitals top hard house events.
At a time when every clubber is a DJ Jake sets himself apart from the crowd by a combination technical expertise and musical diversity behind the decks. He is at ease with any set time, from funky warm ups to banging out the hardest of the hard; this skillset quickly propelled him to slots at events such as Encoded NRG, Twist, Frantic Hi-Oktane, Bio-shock and Nu-sum. Jakes ability to perform consistently at the top of his game is illustrated by the knock on effects particular sets have had – His first set at Encoded NRG won him a residency and his competition win at hard house institution Twist in 2010 would ultimately lead to the announcement of a residency there, as one of two artists picked to join the prestigious roster in 2011.. Repeating the competition trick again, Jake won one of three sets available in Awsums 'Nusum' room @ Hidden in June '11. 2012 has just landed and Jake has had a good start to the year, being short listed in 2012's Hard House Awards for best newcomer and best resident!
Jake has been venturing successfully into the realm of production and his tracks have already been picked up by labels such as Toolbox, Encoded NRG & Smalltown. The remainder of 2011 and beyond bodes extremely for Jake and as the bookings and production work begin to pile up it seems like a scene always looking for the next big thing may well have already found it.
